Marketing and Publicity Paid Internship

Marketing and Publicity Paid Internship

Friday, 17 July 2020, 5.00pm

Gill Books is seeking a hard-working intern to assist the Marketing and Communications department in the busy run up to Christmas. Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will support the Marketing and Publicity team as they implement promotional campaigns over a three-month period.

You will assist with securing media coverage, organising book launches and events, digital marketing campaigns and administrative support. The job will require some attendance at book events in the evenings and on weekends.

This role will provide critical support during the Marketing and Publicity team’s busiest, most high-pressure period. You will be willing to assist and support the team as they work to achieve key objectives, be happy to take direction and pitch in. Your unflappable, can-do attitude will allow you to juggle a number of requests and demands, and your calm-under-pressure demeanour will enable you to prioritise accordingly.

You will be a confident communicator across all mediums, with excellent verbal and written skills. Ideally, you will have a familiarity with the publishing and media landscapes but, more important, you will be interested in learning more about them. You will be excited by our books and have a passion for helping to connect them with as wide an audience as possible.

Please send CV and cover letter to Deborah Marsh, dmarsh [at] gill.ie by 17 July.
