Yasuko Naka is a professional performer of harp and traditional Irish music, making her debut from a major label in Japan in 2007.

She has released four CDs and published a songbook, all featuring Irish traditional songs. Every year, she gives several live shows. Her performances and activities include public events in Japan relating to St. Patrick’s Day as well as receptions hosted by the Irish Embassy in Japan. She has had the honour of singing the national anthems of both Japan and Ireland at these events.

Naka has visited Ireland and engaged enthusiastically in music lessons with local Irish tutors in order to deepen her understanding of Irish Culture and singing. She enjoys singing in Gaelic through her this experience.

Naka started her entertainment performance career at Takarazuka Revue, a Japanese professional musical performance group, in 1983. She is a member of the Japan Celtic Society and of the Shamrock Ladies Society of Japan.
