Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra Online | Introduction to Performing Baroque Music

Join the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra’s Artistic Team for an online one-day course Introduction to Performing Baroque Music on Sunday, 7 November from 10am – 4:30pm.

This course is open to young musicians, aged 15 – 18, who wish to know more about historically informed performance and have an interest in performing Baroque music.

The day will consist of workshops, lectures and masterclasses with tutors from the Irish Baroque Orchestra including Claire Duff (Leader of the Irish Baroque Orchestra), Malcolm Proud (Harpsichord) and Sarah McMahon (Cello).

Selected participants may be given the opportunity to perform and be given a brief masterclass during the workshops. Applicants for this can apply to perform any baroque piece on any instrument and must have a minimum of Grade 5 (or equivalent) standard.

Closing date for applications is Friday, 29 October 2021.

There is a fee of €40 to participate in the course.

The Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra is a collaboration between the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras and the Irish Baroque Orchestra, funded by The Arts Council.
