Wednesday, 20 February 2019, 12.00pm

Salary: £34,230-£38,730 per annum (incl. London Weighting) dependant on experience.
Permanent, Full Time: 35 hours per week

The Barbican is currently seeking a talented Arts Planning and Evaluation Officer to join the Barbican Incubator - a small central programming, policy, strategy and research unit that works across practices and disciplines to foster organisational development. This unit does so through exploring new ways of working and creating insight and understanding which informs decision making across the Centre.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Organisational Development and Policy, this role is intrinsic to the continued development and delivery of the arts strategy, business planning and evaluation - with particular focus on arts and learning projects. We are seeking someone who is confident in implementing and reviewing strategies and policies, particularly within a cultural context, who has excellent written and verbal communications skills and has experience of reporting to funders, boards and other stakeholders within a complex and fast paced environment.

The post-holder will need to build strong relationships with people of all levels across the organisation - including Heads of Departments and Directors, so must be confident in developing new working relationships and presenting to senior staff where required.

The Barbican is looking for someone who either has direct experience of or is keen to develop their skills in the management and monitoring of progress of implemented strategies and business plans. Someone who has a good understanding of the use of e.g. KPIs, SMART targets and other metrics to measure success.

A grounding in the evaluation of arts, learning or community-facing activities and events is highly desirable and someone with a good understanding of current cultural policy and issues is particularly welcome.

Closing date for applications is Midday, Wednesday 20 February 2019.
