Research & Evaluation Officer

Children’s Books Ireland is seeking a Research & Evaluation Officer to work 2 days per week.

The Research & Evaluation Officer will lead and facilitate both in-house and external research and evaluation projects to inform the way we work and advocate for change. This role will involve producing evidence-based documents and reports which will allow Children’s Books Ireland to learn from our challenges, tell the story of our successes and influence change through advocacy and ensuring the sustainability of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have:
–A degree-level qualification or higher and/or expertise and practical experience in research, monitoring & evaluation or impact measurement
–Experience of data collection, collation, analysis and management
–Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
–Strong analytical and numeracy skills
–Ability to write clear, compelling reports and other documents for a range of audiences
–Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to prioritise and balance multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
–A high degree of self-sufficiency and initiative
–The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
–Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
–Digital literacy (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Dropbox, Slack, Zoom)
–Attention to detail
–Experience working directly with children and young people is desirable
–An understanding of and experience working in the arts or charity sectors is desirable, but not essential
