Young People, Children and Education Residencies

Young People, Children and Education Residencies

Thursday, 6 April 2023, 5.30pm

The Young People, Children and Education Residencies scheme is designed to support artists or arts organisations in spending an academic year in residence at a higher-education institution in Ireland that provides initial teacher education or a recognised qualification in early childhood education and care. The scheme aims to provide opportunities for artists to develop their skills and experience in education settings, for teaching staff to engage with practising artists in creating bespoke, creative initiatives, and for future teachers and early-years educators to engage with practising artists and develop the skills and confidence to facilitate arts experiences.

The scheme is open to all art forms and arts-practice areas and encourages collaborative applications from higher-education institutions that provide initial teacher education and/or a course leading to a level-7 or 8 degree in early childhood education and care. Host institutions must apply in partnership with an artist or arts organisation, and the maximum awarded is €20,000. The closing date for applications is 17:30 on Thursday 6 April 2023.

The Arts Council seeks to support residencies across a diversity of art forms, with a diversity of artists, arts organisations, and educational institutions. For further information, contact YPCE [at] artscouncil.ie (YPCE@artscouncil.ie) or call 01 6180200/01 6180243.
