LASTA – A National Arts Programme for young people by young people │ June 11 to 20 2021

In a new innovative approach to programming, twenty-one young curators have been engaged by the Nasc venues to programme a festival of work for children and young people from 11 to 20 June 2021, delivering for the first time, a national arts programme curated entirely by young people.

New Moon is an exclusive festival mini-gigs series profiling two emerging Irish songwriters to watch.

Míde Houlihan is a singer-songwriter from West Cork. She won the IMRO Christie Hennessy Songwriting Award in 2015, releasing her debut album Coloured In the same year. She has played support for FRED and Jenn Grant and shared a stage with John Spillane and Bill Shanley. Her single Idle Words, a co-write with Mick Flannery, was released in 2020.

Jake Regan is a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter from Dublin. He fronted the band Segrasso until 2018, when he started recording and releasing music under his own name. His debut album will be released later this year.

New Moon mini-gigs will premiere on glór’s social channels at 6pm on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of June.

The participating NASC Network Venues are Backstage (Longford), An Grianán (Letterkenny), glór (Ennis), Siamsa Tíre (Tralee), Pavilion Theatre (Dún Laoghaire), Lime Tree Theatre (Limerick), Dunamaise Arts Centre (Port Laoise), Town Hall Theatre (Galway).

Lasta is based on an original project conceived and delivered by Backstage Theatre, Longford in 2020.
