Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Primary Music Education (0.5 full-time equivalent)

Are you a highly motivated, innovative and effective practitioner who is keen to promote primary music education across our school and beyond? If you are, come and join our successful and dynamic team who, through a continued commitment to research and teaching excellence, strive to maximise students’ potential as future specialists of their subject.

You will support our students to develop subject knowledge and teaching skills, sharing both practical expertise and relevant scholarship with students as a primary music specialist. At Senior Lecturer grade you would also be expected to take on coordination and/or leadership roles within the School of Education on arrival.

You will have:

– The ability to demonstrate a passion for teaching and students’ learning and be able to offer a clear rationale for your pedagogy
– A good (normally a 1st or 2:1) undergraduate degree
– A relevant postgraduate qualification (PGCert/EYITT/PGCE/MA/PhD), an equivalent level of professional experience or evidence of a commitment to obtaining a relevant higher degree/professional qualification
– A relevant professional qualification (QTS or equivalent)
– An equivalent level of professional experience or evidence of a commitment to obtaining a relevant higher degree/professional qualification
– Due to the nature of this post a DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

You will, depending on your individual profile, contribute to a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and work-related programmes. Programmes are delivered across the full calendar year and can involve some work on evenings and Saturdays. You may also be expected to travel to partner schools and settings to support students’ professional learning in collaboration with a range of professionals from these placements.
