Grammy Award winning violinist Johnny Gandelsman returns to Kilkenny Arts Festival to perform his unique version of Bach’s Cello Suites.

Bach composed so many wonderful pieces for violin that it’s rare for violinists to tackle works written for other instruments, but Johnny Gandelsman is no ordinary violinist. Whether performing solo or as part of the innovative string quartet Brooklyn Rider, who wowed the Festival in 2015, the Grammy Award-winning violinist has a restless appetite for invention, and this year he returns to Kilkenny to perform the complete set of Bach’s cello suites.
