M'ANAM - LIVE at the Irish Institute of Music and Song

Saturday, 16 October 2021, 8.00pm

M’ANAM

M'ANAM ("My Soul" in the Irish language), combines the shared heritages of two ancient cultures, Ireland and Iceland, in unique and compelling ways. They came together in 2018 and released their debut album in November 2019.

Singing songs inspired by the natural landscapes around them, the voices of M'ANAM have created a sound-world for our modern times using the words of those long dead including the Viking eulogy "Deyr Fé" and the 9th century author of "Bitter Wind". M’ANAM is redefining the accepted ideas of men's ensemble singing with a natural and unforced sound.

M’ANAM are featured artists on the opening track ‘Clarity’ on the album “tres” by Japanese jazz-rock ensemble mouse on the keys, and also feature on the soundtrack of World of Warcraft (Blizzard) “Warbringers - Jaina” released in 2018.

The group are based in Reykjavík and Dublin, and 2021 will reignite their singular journey to express ideas of culture and shared heritages.
