The world-renowned City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is seeking a Youth & Ensembles Officer to work as part of our Learning & Participation team. Each year the CBSO’s Learning & Participation department provides over 70,000 engagement opportunities through our diverse programme of activity which takes place throughout Birmingham and across the Midlands.

The CBSO’s Learning & Participation programme currently provides performance and workshop opportunities for early years groups through to older people living in residential care, a broad programme of schools based activities for both mainstream and special schools, a 200 strong community choir, partnership programmes with Music Education Hubs, community groups and care providers and a series of main season orchestral concerts for schools and families.

The CBSO Youth Orchestra is also managed through the Learning & Participation department. Working with 110 exceptionally talented young musicians each year, the CBSO Youth Orchestra undertakes ambitious repertoire and commissions new works from some of the UK’s leading composers, in addition to working with world class conductors and soloists.
