Meet the Irish (New York, January 2024) – Call for Artists
Culture Ireland is calling for submissions from Irish artists and companies for the ‘Meet the Irish’ initiative, set to take place in New York from 11th to 14th January 2024. This event, following its successful pilot in January 2023, offers a platform for Irish artists and arts organisations in music, theatre, and dance to engage with North American presenters and festivals. The event is timed to coincide with the ISPA and APAP conferences and the annual meeting of the network of Irish cultural centres in North America (NICCoNA).
Successful applicants will present their work at the Irish Arts Center, New York, on Saturday 13th January 2024. To qualify, applicants must present professional, internationally-ready work, have evidence of positive independent critical recognition, and preferably high-quality moving image documentation of their work. Availability for preparatory work and willingness to present within a designated template and timeslot are required.
Applications will be assessed based on the fulfilment of criteria, quality of production, and the artist/company’s capacity for international touring. Culture Ireland will provide grant supports for selected participants. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 10th November 2023. For additional support in completing the application, contact info [at] cultureireland.gov.ie.
