Thursday, 6 April 2023, 4.00pm

Galway City Council Arts Office has launched the Creative Practitioner Bursary 2023, as part of its commitment to the development of creative practitioners and the cultural landscape of the city. The initiative is in line with the New Directions: Strategic Plan for the arts 2021-2026, which aims to create an open and fair approach to investment and development of the arts. The Council works closely with the Arts Council to provide support, resources and opportunities to artists in the community.

The bursary fund is aimed at supporting creative practitioners in developing new works and nurturing their professional and creative practices. The funding scheme comprises two strands, with Strand 1 allowing applications up to €500 and Strand 2 allowing applications between €501 and €3,000. Applicants can apply for either Strand 1 or Strand 2. Awards will be made across a range of creative disciplines, including visual culture, literature, contemporary film, music, dance, architecture, and theatre.
