Accompanist – Staff Pianist

Edinburgh College of Art seeks to appoint a collaborative pianist (accompanist) to support the undergraduate performance courses and student concert activities in the Reid School of Music.

The staff pianist will assist academic staff with the delivery of performance courses and organisation of student concerts, rehearse with individual students and perform with students in seminar performances, performance exams, student concerts and the Tovey Memorial Prize Competition.

Your skills and attributes for success:
–Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in piano performance (collaborative or solo) or have or equivalent experience.
–Should be able to demonstrate excellent sight-reading skills
–Have extensive knowledge of the European Art Music concert repertoire and have stylistic awareness.
–Additional expertise in popular music and/or jazz or proficiency on historical keyboard instruments and a demonstrable interest in critically informed approaches to music performance are welcome.
–Candidates must have excellent time management and communication skills.
