Amhráin Uí Chearbhalláin/ Songs of O’Carolan

Is amhránaí/cumadóir amhránaí í Lasairfhíona atá fréamhaithe go domhain i stíl amhránaíochta sean-nóis Oileáin Árann. Tá a cur chuige nuálaíoch ar cheol Gaelach agus ar amhránaíocht thraidisiúnta á cheiliúradh ina trí albam iomráiteacha, An Raicín Álainn, Flame of Wine agus One Penny Portion. Tá toradh a saothair ina mósáic dhraíochtúil fuaime, é chomh húr, athraitheach le lá bog báistí in Árainn. “Anáil fíorghlan de chuile rud atá álainn faoi Éirinn.” Léirmheasanna Cheol Tíre & Fuaimníocht an BBC.

Le tamall anuas, tá Lasairfhíona ag cuir coiriú ceoil ar amhráin Thoirdhealbhach Uí Chearbhalláin, thaifead sí an t-amhrán amhrán Eilís Nic Dhiarmada Rua dá halbam One Penny Portion.

Lasairfhíona (pronounced Lah-sah-reena) is a singer/songwriter deeply rooted in the sean-nós singing style of the Aran Islands. Her innovative approach to Irish music and her new slant on traditional singing have been celebrated in her three renowned albums; An Raicín Álainn, Flame of Wine and One Penny Portion.

The result of her work is a magical mosaic of sound; as refreshing and unpredictable as a showery day inside in Aran. BBC Folk & Acoustic Reviews described her work as ‘A pure breath of everything that is beautiful about Ireland.’

Lasairfhíona has been working on settings of Turlough O’Carolan’s songs, she previously recorded the beautiful song Eilís Nic Dhiarmada Rua for her album, One Penny Portion.
