
Assistant Music Librarian
Liverpool Philharmonic is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Music Librarian. This full-time, permanent role is based at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, including other locations as required. The Assistant Music Librarian will support the Music Librarian in providing professional library services to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and other performing groups, as well as the Learning programme. Key responsibilities include preparing performance materials, ensuring their availability to musicians, managing library procedures, and maintaining an accurate music inventory.
Applicants should demonstrate experience in a music library or hold a formal music qualification. Essential skills include high-standard music reading ability, meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, and proficiency in library database software, particularly OPAS. Knowledge of music theory, orchestral scores, transposition, and UK/international copyright laws is also required.
The role offers a salary of £21,840 per annum, with a 35-hour work week, 26 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and a Group Pension scheme. Additional benefits include a Health Cash Plan, training and development opportunities, discounted travel, and complimentary staff tickets.
