Mendelssohn Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage Overture
Britten Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes

An interactive musical journey into maritime marvels for all ages from six to 106!

Cast off for a musical adventure on the high seas with the full forces of the National Symphony Orchestra, maestro Leonard Slatkin and dynamic musician and presenter Jessie Grimes.

Imagine drifting out to sea on a gentle tide before reaching the mighty ocean with all its thunderous power in Mendelssohn's Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage Overture.

Like musical Instagram images, Britten’s Four Sea Interludes depict the ever-changing sea, its mystery, and its danger. From the chilly sunrise of ‘Dawn’ and the menace that invades ‘Sunday Morning’, to the nocturnal poetry of ‘Moonlight’ and the torrential ‘Storm’, an unforgettable musical voyage awaits you.

Designed for families with children aged five and above, all are welcome. This is a relaxed performance.
