The Stewardship Manager is responsible for managing stewardship initiatives for the school’s scholarship and major gifts donors. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, this position plays a key role in supporting the School’s fundraising goals by delivering compelling and meaningful content to ensure that relevant, consistent, and timely information is communicated to donors of all giving levels. The Manager will work alongside colleagues in the development, public affairs, and across all program areas to build a culture of gratitude that will impact the success of Juilliard’s fundraising, stewardship, and events programs by strengthening relationships with the school’s donors. The Manager will maintain a regular schedule of individualized major donor communications; produce communications to make certain all donors understand the impact of their gifts; oversee donor acknowledgement and recognition in all forms; and analyze effectiveness of these efforts. The position requires strong project management skills.

Responsibilities:
– Prepare, track, and deliver annual scholarship and impact-of-gift reports for Juilliard’s most significant donors. Research donor records, analyze donor giving histories, and complete a thorough review of gift terms and donor relationships with the School using internal and external resources.
– Work with Office of Financial Aid to track and distribute mandatory student thank you notes, ensuring all students comply by end of fall term.
– Produce annual endowment reports.
– Assists in preparation of donor meeting briefings, working gift officers, the Associate Director of Research and Prospect Management, and the Director of Development Resources.
– Works with Communications to ensure that individual donor strategies are integrated into appropriate marketing channels and tools (i.e., website, newsletters, etc.).
– Develops and executes a plan to regularly engage scholarship recipients over the course of the year, in an effort to better educate them about the importance of their financial aid support, and encourage them to communicate their ambitions and gratitude to the university’s most ardent supporters. Gathers stories and quotes from students use in donor communications.
– Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
B.A. degree
– A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in a higher education or non-profit environment
– Must have superior organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience working independently
– Outstanding verbal and written communications skills including writing, editing, proofreading
– Ability to effectively manage projects that are both data driven and relationship driven
– Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines
– Highly motivated and collaborative
– High proficiency in Raiser’s Edge preferred (or other fundraising database)
– Superior interpersonal skills with proven ability to successfully interact and collaborate with colleagues and high-level donors in a professional manner
– Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite
– Ability to uphold department and organization standards while fulfilling requests in a timely manner
– A commitment to The Juilliard School’s mission and an interest in the performing arts
