Development Officer - Appeals & Campaigns

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all appeals and campaigns in a busy Development office. This role will work directly with the Senior Philanthropy Manager to think creatively around marketing campaigns, donors asks and a busy calendar of fundraising appeals that will be communicated to a wide audience of supporters. You will also be responsible for designing beneficiary stories across a range of print materials including the Member’s newsletter and Tour & Festival Programme Books.

You should have a good understanding of Individual Giving and Marketing practices and be experienced at working with large sets of data and CRM systems, be comfortable working to shifting project deadlines and priorities and will be dedicated to excellent donor and supporter communication.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
– Oversee the delivery of the Annual Fund realising an annual income target of £350,000.
– Develop appeals and campaigns around Glyndebourne’s work including the Tour, Young Artist Development programmes, future audiences, capital projects and other work.
– Deliver content across all print including regular members newsletters, festival tour programmes and brochures.
– Manage and update webpages; telling effective donor stories with clear calls to action.
– Collate and gather information and content for fundraising impact reports.
– Oversee Glyndebourne’s email marketing efforts in order to engage supporters with our campaigns by writing, building, and sending e-mail marketing messages; segmenting audiences; and conducting split testing.
– Work closely with other teams to ensure the accuracy of digital content
– Be responsible for all donor acknowledgments online and across all print and liaising with comms
– Assist with key fundraising receptions during the Glyndebourne Festival between May – August and at other events throughout the year.
– Where required, to work outside of standard office hours including evenings and weekends.
– Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Philanthropy Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
– Educated to degree level or equivalent experience desirable.
– Strong writing skills, analytical experience, and an understanding of what will resonate with people online.
– A focus on efficiency, patience, exceptional attention to detail, a positive attitude, and innovative ideas.
– Previous experience in e-mail marketing, marketing automation, and reporting using web analytics.
– Experience of CRM and/or databases, preferably Tessitura or equivalent.
– Experience of collecting and analysing data, working methodically with precision, including experience of researching donor prospects.
– Knowledge of key facets of GDPR and how it related to prospect and supporter data.
– Intermediate website design and photo editing skills
