The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival in Belfast has announced a screening of Poitín (1978), the Irish-language feature film by director Bob Quinn. The event will take place on Thursday 8 May at 7.30pm in the Oh Yeah Centre.

Poitín is noted as the first feature film made in the Irish language. Set in Connemara, it portrays the story of illicit poitín distillation and follows the lives of characters involved in its production. The film stars Cyril Cusack, Donal McCann, and Niall Tóibín.

The screening is presented in association with Bán Poitín and Echlinville Distillery. Tickets are priced at £16.

Bob Quinn's new book, 'Count Me Out: Selected Writings of Filmmaker Bob Quinn', will be available for purchase at the screening.
