Traditional Irish Music Masterclass series with Nicky McAuliffe

Learn traditional Irish music from nationally renowned master Nicky McAuliffe in this four week online workshop series.

Our Sharing the Tradition online workshops continue with a series of 4 workshops in traditional Irish music facilitated by renowned musician and teacher Nicky McAuliffe .

Nicky McAuliffe is a leading expert and teacher when it comes to traditional Irish music. In this four-week series of classes, aimed at experienced musicians, Nicky will not only teach you some traditional Irish tunes, he will also discuss the history behind the tunes, where they came from and how they were named.

Nicky has been involved with Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland since 1970, performing, touring, and teaching. He is known for his in-depth knowledge on traditional Irish music and is well respected by musicians the world over.

In 2019, along with his wife Anne, they were awarded the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Lifetime Achievement Award

The classes are open to experienced musicians over the age of 16, and will run for 4 weeks online via Zoom starting on Tuesday, May 11th from 7pm to 8pm. The series is also available On Demand.
