Nancy Hurrell

In this illustrated presentation, showing images of rarely seen historic Irish harps, the harpist and author, Nancy Hurrell, shares her research on the gifted harp builder John Egan. Working in early nineteenth-century Dublin, it was Egan who invented beautiful, new Irish harps to replace the ancient instrument, which was dying out.

An event of Scoil na gCláirseach—Festival of Early Irish Harp, 14–20 August 2019.
