An Góilín Traditional Singers: Weekly Singing Session ("Puddin' Night")

An Góilín Traditional Singers: Weekly Singing Session ("Puddin' Night")

Friday, 20 December 2019, 9.00pm

Weekly singing session for traditional songs. Songs are (mainly) unaccompanied and songs in all languages/from all cultures are welcome. New singers & listeners always welcome. Admission by way of a €3 per person contribution to the club. No pre-booking necessary for weekly sessions. See our website, calendar and facebook page for details. Tonight is our Christmas celebration, known as the "Puddin' Night", when we mark the festivities with dodgy jumpers, Christmas pud, & seasonal song. This year our special guests are BBC Folk Award winner Daoiri Farrell, well known to Góilíners as "one of our own", and internationally recognised Uilleann Piper Seán Potts, whose closed-fingering, vibrant style is influenced largely by Ennis, Reck and Clancy. With two musicians of this high calibre in the house and plenty of top class singing too this event is not to be missed. Rumour has it that Santa and his favourite Elf may also be making an appearance! Get there early, this night is always full to the rafters!
