Spilt Milk 2021: Alannah Thornburgh & Branwen

Sunday, 21 November 2021, 3.00pm

It’s a West of Ireland double bill for Spilk Milk 2021's final music event at The Model.

Raised on a diet of salty sea air and sideways rain in the West of Ireland, Branwen’s live performances involve storytelling, an array of unmusical objects employed as instruments, as well as actual instruments including loop pedals, banjo and guitar. Her work is imagination centric and is inspired by mythology and folklore from home and around the world.

County Mayo native, Alannah Thornburgh, is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer with a focus on traditional Irish harp. Alannah’s music explores her family’s musical heritage, reimagining ancient airs and tunes from the Irish harping and American Appalachian and Jazz traditions.
