Mattan Klein comes to Dublin on the crest of a wave. His latest album The Long Run released earlier this year on the UK Label Ubuntu, has received critic acclaim all over Europe. Add to that many Festival performances at the Summertime Tel Aviv Jazzfest, The Nisville Jazz Festival, Serbia, Klaipeda Castle Jazz Festival, Lithuania. Following his concert in Dublin, Klein will be appearing at The Cambridge Jazz Festival the next night.

As a composer his style is wonderfully uplifting with strong traces of Brazilian influences in his music. Featuring in this concert is a special guest, Dominic Mullan on Drums. A concert that comes strongly recommended it will be a memorable night of international jazz in Dublin.

Mattan is winner of the 1st prize in the 2018 international ‘7 Virtual Jazz Club Web Community Award’! He appeared at the Tirana Albania International Jazz Festival 2019 and at the JEN Festival (Jazz Education Network) 2017 and 2020 in New Orleans .Mattan was producer and artistic director at the Kfar Yona Jazz Festival 2021, and was featured as headliner at the 2021 International Red Sea Jazz Festival!

Mattan's quintet music is flowing, bright and listener friendly, his flute sound is clear, crispy and melodic, and the Israeli-Brazilian mix is the ultimate contemporary Jazz sound, spiced with warm unique flute sounds from Klein.

His original compositions have also earned him awards such as the John Lennon songwriting contest, and the USA Songwriting competition. 

Mattan had performed on stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, NJPAC, and more. He was recorded for SONY on the Artist Integrated sampling projects titled Sony Native instruments. He is also a recording artist for the Orange Tree Sampling Corporation.

Mattan Klein was born and raised in Jerusalem. He had studied at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem, and had graduated with honours from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He had received multiple scholarships from the Israeli Ministry of Culture, America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and the municipality of Jerusalem.  He is also the Recipient of multiple ACUM Scholarships for emerging artists (Israeli Agency for Composers and Musicians).

In 2016 he was a featured soloist with the United Kingdom Jazz Flute Big Band, his music and arrangements were performed at the London Jazz Festival 2016. His critically acclaimed 2016 album ‘Sound Tracks’ was endorsed and distributed by Helicon Records, and so is his 2019 album, titled ’Wag the Mammoth in the China Store ‘.
