DYO Symphony Orchestra is an 85-piece ensemble with players from age 15 to 19, performing a classical programme selected by conductor Fergus Sheil. DYO places great importance on inspiring young musicians and creating opportunities for them to play and perform classical music to the highest standard. Many alumni have gone on to have careers as players and conductors with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and The National Symphony Orchestra.

Programme: Ravel: La valse & Rimsky Korsakov: Tsar Saltan Suite

Julianstown Youth Orchestra was founded in 2011 by Maria and Fergus Sheil to provide a uniquely high quality music experience for its members from Meath, Louth, and Dublin, and has quickly grown to 100 players organised into a junior and senior orchestra. JYO has performed in Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, the Barbican, Drogheda and the Convention Centre, Dublin, and has undertaken projects with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 the senior members premiered a ground-breaking new artwork Gesamtkunstwerk in collaboration with a team of leading professional creative artists, unleashing the imagination of every participant. JYO are delighted to bring this music back to Solstice again.

Programme: Verdi: Nabucco Overture & Julianstown Youth Orchestra: Gesamtkunstwerk
