In the Room is a leadership development programme for 18 – 24 year old music creators delivered by The Ivors Academy, funded by Youth Music and supported by Help Musicians. Six participants will be selected for the 8-month scheme to work under the leadership and mentorship of under-25 Academy Board Directors Hope Winter and Imogen Williams.

The aim of In the Room is to support young songwriters and composers from diverse backgrounds to develop their leadership skills, engage with the music industry and to work on paid research projects. The research will be focused on the issues that matter most to the In the Room representatives while helping The Ivors Academy to build stronger careers networks, increase engagement opportunities and to raise the voices of under-25 music creators in the UK.

The opportunity will build the profile of participants, develop collaboration skills, increase industry contacts and provide the skills and experience to engage on influential music industry boards and councils.
