Morrsion's Academy Pipe Band hail from Crieff, Perthshire in Scotland.

Director Scott Murray, is a very experienced piper with over 30 years of competing experience with Grade 1 Bands. He was the Pipe Major with Perth & District Band for six years and has played with the Duke of Atholl’s Private Army Pipe Band for the last 14 years.

In recent years, The Band have made a number of trips to play high-level events in Hong Kong, New York, Oman and Dublin. We have led the Tartan Day Parade in New York City, joined the Hong Kong Police Band, and played at the British Embassy in Dublin. In 2019 we were delighted to take part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade and also travelled to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The Band has also performed at the opening ceremony of the Solheim Cup at Gleneagles in 2019, and more recently at the COP26 Climate summit in Glasgow.

The Band also fulfils a number of local and national commitments. As well as traditional school events such as Sports Day and Speech Day, we are also invited to regularly perform at many local events including the annual Crieff Highland Gathering and Crieff Remembrance Day Parade. We had the honour of leading the Crieff Highland Gathering Chieftain’s Parade in 2017. Members of our Band participate each year in the Massed Scottish Schools Beating the Retreat at Edinburgh Castle. During COVID lockdowns our pipers could be heard each Thursday night playing from their doorsteps in support of the NHS and during the national VE Day 75th celebrations.
