About Humbird
Combining a wintry longing with the warmth of a familiar folktale, Humbird transcends between experimental folk and environmental Americana to embrace the unexpected. This music invites a refreshing dissonance into the house, it leaves breadcrumbs along the path and reflects light back at the stars.

What began as a solo looping performance of folk songs and soundscapes has evolved into a fluid project that incorporates life experiences with a reverence for both ancient oral traditions, and Nordic cultural influences, as well as musical heroes like John Prine, Joni Mitchell, and Big Thief.

In 2019, Humbird released the critically acclaimed, debut full-length, "Pharmakon", which introduced us to Siri Undlin’s songwriting craft and Humbird’s harmonic folk style. With Folk Alley calling the album “... an absolutely hypnotic listening experience.” Atwood Magazine described it as music wrapped in “gentle rebellion”. The release garnered millions of online streams and a wide range of accolades, including 89.3FM The Current’s, “Best Albums Of The Year”, City Page’s “Picked To Click” Award, “Best Minnesota Albums” from the Star Tribune, and as an official showcasing artist at SXSW in Austin.

Most recently, "Still Life" has received enthusiastic praise from within the folk world – awarded as a 2021 Kerrville Folk Fest’s New Folk Winners, where Humbird performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival in September, 2021.

No Depression highlighted Humbird’s "Still Life", as one of the top album releases in October 2021.

Humbird performed as an Official Showcase Artist for Folk Alliance International taking place in May 2022.

Minnesota Public Radio, The Current 89.FM, featured the single track, "Plum Sky" as the “Song of the Day”, claiming “the song as a new step for the singer-songwriter, with her vocals accompanied by big, brooding drums.”

“‘Still Life’ offers a delicate balance – a yin and yang – with soothing, meditative instrumentation paired with more pressing, thought-provoking lyrics, layered on top. Each song on the album melts into the next seamlessly, and captures your attention. The album offers a sense of tranquility and a simultaneous sense of change and urgency. ‘Still Life’ forces you to listen and really hear.” – Music Mecca

“Whether it be experimenting with atmospheric electronic elements, sprinkling in a bit of country, or weaving in a touch of whimsical woodwinds, each choice feels like an exploration of how sounds and styles can naturally influence and heighten one another. And while each song stands solid on its own, it’s the whole of the ‘Still Life’ album as one living organism that’s most breathtaking.” – Adventures in Americana

About Luke Callen
At the intersection of Harry Smith’s Old Weird America, the songs of heartworn highways and the tumult of today you can find the music of Luke Callen. The songs that are equal parts tragic comedy and hopeless reverie, paint a picture of the places and people that make up his earthly home. A poet – a player – a folk singer – Luke has traversed his country unraveling tall tales, short tunes and all that’s hidden underneath.

Originally from the river town of La Crosse, Wisconsin – the heart of the Driftless Region on the Mississippi River – and currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota by way of Colorado. Luke brings his humble sense of humor and humanity wherever he may go. His last two solo albums – "I’ll Take it With Me" (2017) and "below your knows" (2019), reach from the ethereal to the eternally real, embracing whimsical walks in the out of doors to hopelessness and heartache and all the in betweens.

Luke has played hundreds of shows spanning both coasts of the United States, the American west, south and heartland. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with fellow great artists Dom Flemons, Dead Horses, The Dustbowl Revival, Kacy & Clayton, James McMurtry, Whiskey Shivers, Charlie Parr, The Lowest Pair, The Last Revel, Lilly Hiatt, Chicago Farmer, and Robbie Fulks among others.
