BBC Sounds is hiring a Social Media Manager or Senior Planner to join its leadership team and strengthen how social media is used to help young fans discover radio stations, podcasts and music. This is a new planning and strategic role that sits in the BBC radio’s central social media team which runs accounts, commissions video, memes and moments, leads on strategy and edits and optimises content for channels that reach millions every week.

Role Responsibility
This is a new role leading on the planning, strategy and performance of radio’s portfolio of social media accounts, channels and pages. The manager will report to the Head of Social Media and alongside a team of executives and managers who create dozens of posts every day that support network radio and BBC Sounds priorities.

The primary focus of the role will be building awareness of the BBC Radio’s stations and BBC Sounds amongst young audiences. You will establish new processes, procure tools and ensure that we are positioned to have the most impact from our organic social media output. You will lead on planning, prioritise the support of the best radio moments and biggest podcast titles across a large portfolio, and develop new ways of communicating to multiple teams how the channels are performing.
