Scottish Opera ia seeking an Assistant Orchestra Technician.

Temporary Position: work commitment is in two blocks: November to December 2019, and January to end March 2020, in the first instance.
Salary – £450.52 per week

Duties in this role include ensuring all orchestral equipment is set up in the designated layout in the relevant venue and cleared after each session in line with orchestral requirements. Working as part of a small team, you will anticipate the organisational needs of the orchestra in line with schedules and prepare each venue to the standards required by our health and safety practices.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage their workload within specified deadlines. A working knowledge of theatre and familiarity with musical instruments would be an advantage. You must have good working knowledge of IT applications, and understand the importance of health and safety and good housekeeping.
The role requires physical fitness and agility due to the level of manual handling that is required. Evening and weekend working is essential in this role.
