Strauss Serenade Op.7 (arr. Stein)
Mozart Sinfonia Concertante in E flat for Violin and Viola, K364
Raymond Deane Embers
Haydn Symphony No. 49, F minor ‘La Passione’

Enjoy the soft-edged lyricism of the beautiful and imaginative of Serenade by Richard Strauss. ICO explores Stein’s version which retains the style by dividing each of the string sections to give the ten independent lines of the original. Celebrated husband-and-wife duo Thomas Zehetmair and Ruth Killius fan the flames of Mozart’s glorious Sinfonia Concertante, one of his best-loved works. Raymond Deane’s atmospheric Embers, an homage to Beckett’s play, obsessively turns over musical fragments. Finally, Haydn’s Symphony No. 49 brims with turbulence and dramatic flair.

€25, €22, €10 students, €5 children.
