
Irish Chamber Orchestra presents: Henning Kraggerud's String Arrangement of Bach's Goldberg Variations
The Irish Chamber Orchestra is set to perform J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations, arranged for strings by Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud and Bernt Simen Lund. The series of performances will take place across Ireland, offering audiences in Limerick, Bantry, and Dublin an opportunity to experience Bach’s renowned composition in a new light.
Henning Kraggerud, acclaimed for his innovative interpretations and arrangements, will lead the orchestra through the Goldberg Variations, a work celebrated for its intricate beauty and complexity. The arrangement promises a fresh perspective on Bach’s masterpiece, adapted for string ensemble.
The concert series will commence at the University Concert Hall in Limerick on Thursday, 7 March at 7:30 pm, with ticket prices ranging from €5 to €30. The following performance will be held at St. Brendan’s Church in Bantry on Friday, 8 March, also at 7:30 pm. The final concert is scheduled for Saturday, 9 March at the Whyte Recital Hall, Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) in Dublin.
Kraggerud will provide insights into his arrangement of the Goldberg Variations in a pre-concert talk.
