Field Work: Manchán Magan and Kerri Ní Dochartaigh

Two masterful nature writers, Kerri Ní Dochartaigh and Manchán Magan, discuss how the land under our feet both keeps us rooted and is itself rooted in our history and language.

Recorded especially for SEODA from the beautiful setting of Ashford Castle, they are joined in conversation by acclaimed nature writer, Paul Kingsnorth.

This event is just one of twenty five exciting events available as part of Culture Ireland’s SEODA festival, which can be viewed through Culture Ireland's YouTube Channel. Don’t miss this special 5 day festival running from 17-21 March 2021.

About SEODA
SEODA is a five day festival running from 17-21 March, an ambitious online programme available through Culture Ireland's YouTube Channel to ensure Irish artists reach audiences worldwide, including the diaspora and new audiences where Irish artists may not have travelled previously. The festival is also available free online in Ireland.

The festival is entitled SEODA, meaning jewels, includes many of Ireland’s finest artists and companies and covers all art forms from architecture to visual arts.

Over the past year Culture Ireland has delivered on its remit to promote Irish artists worldwide through online presentation of artists. There is a heightened desire this year through SEODA to reach a global audience to the greatest extent possible, as in 2020 many artists had just reached international destinations but did not get to deliver performances over St Patrick’s Day period. In 2019 Culture Ireland supported 60 Irish acts to tour in the month of March and they reached 350,000 audience members in various venues around the world.
