Wednesday, 27 May 2020, 12.00pm

Arts and Health invites applications to its 2020 Artist Bursary. Three awards of €2000 each will be offered to successful applicants.

Eligibility Criteria:
This bursary is open to professional artists with experience of delivering arts projects in healthcare contexts in the Republic of Ireland. All artforms are applicable.

In keeping with the Arts Council’s definition of arts and health (Arts Council’s Arts and Health Policy and Strategy, 2010):

Arts and health is the generic term that embraces a range of arts practices occurring primarily in healthcare settings, which brings together the skills and priorities of both arts and health professionals.

Criteria for selection
• Track record of artist in terms of arts and health
• Quality of arts practice (demonstrated through the supporting materials submitted)
• Strength of application
• Evidence of an artist’s capacity to reflect on their practice (demonstrated through the supporting materials submitted)

For one of the bursaries, consideration will be given to artists with an emerging arts and health practice. In this instance, the panel will assess the quality of the artist’s arts and health practice to date, the strength of the application and evidence of the artist’s capacity to reflect on their practice.

The bursary will be adjudicated by a subcommittee of the artsandhealth.ie Editorial Panel.

Timeframe
The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 27 May 2020 at 12pm.
All applicants will be notified by mid-June of panel decisions.
It is expected that bursary outcomes will be completed and submitted to artsandhealth.ie by Tuesday 1 December 2020.
