Assistant Professorship in Sound Studies

The School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University invites applications for the position of assistant professor in sound studies.

The aim of this position is to strengthen the focus of the School of Communication and Culture on sound as an interdisciplinary field of study, for instance in relation to human perception, environmental contexts, sound technology and media, and the sociological and aesthetic aspects of sound. The school also wishes to strengthen and further develop the collaboration on sound studies research and teaching between the involved departments and across different degree programmes in digital design (audio design track), musicology, and aesthetics and culture.

The person appointed to the post must complete Aarhus University’s teacher training programme for assistant professors especially designed for university teaching.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to Aarhus University’s core activities in the areas of research, teaching and supervision, talent development and knowledge exchange.
