RTÉ is seeking applications for 2 Press and Publicity Officers on initial 6-month specified-purpose contracts.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Press and Publicity Officer’s main responsibilities include: 

  • Devising communications campaigns to position, promote and publicise RTÉ’s TV programmes as part of integrated marketing and communications campaigns
  • The development of specific communications activities for priority programmes including press releases, social media, press conferences, launch events, photo calls, photo shoots, interviews, EPKs, shot lists, production notes and Q&As
  • Weekly input of information and images into an electronic press web, which outlines the full range of RTÉ Television programming, including billings, highlights, press releases and images
  • Identification and implementation of appropriate strategies and devices to reach target audiences of given programmes across the full range of genres, including factual, entertainment, drama, arts, young peoples and sport
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with key media contacts
  • Liaising and negotiating with key personnel including senior management, production teams, on-screen talent, marketing, legal, sales, scheduling to ensure efficient flow of information and communication within and outside of RTÉ
  • Responding to and managing media queries regarding RTÉ television output accurately, efficiently and comprehensively
