Porphyry Single Launch w/ HIVE Choir
Porphyry (Daryl Martin) creates music that jitters and scratches in the cracks of electronica and folk. Melding old and new, Porphyry’s music is cinematic and pastoral, full of ancient influences, connections to nature, and brimming with conversations from other worlds.
Porphyry returns with the single Berliner Lüft,a shape-shifting techno journey through Berlin, where he encounters Orphic rites, bacchanals and even an intercession from the divine feminine herself. A noticeable shift in style, this move demonstrates an artist reluctant to settle and eager to explore new territories.
Having performed at Celtronic Festival, collaborating with the Ulster Orchestra and Phil Kieran, and a recent support slot with Hen Ogledd at the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Porphyry is fast moving in from the periphery.
Selected as one of Moving on Music's 2018/19 emerging artists, we are delighted to present Porphyry.
'...his work is deeply intuitive, its peaks more emotional than grandiose, bringing an outsider’s uniqueness of perspective to these classically and folk-rooted pieces...'- The Thin Air
