The Defence Forces School of Music is currently accepting applications for suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Band Conductor. As a Technical Officer in the Defence Forces School of Music you will be part of a dedicated team with responsibility for all aspects of band activity including conducting, instruction and administration.

Conducting engagements will include performances at all major State ceremonial occasions, including Presidential Inaugurations, Presentation of Credentials ceremonies of newly appointed Ambassadors, the provision of musical support for State visits to Ireland by foreign Heads of State, the National Day of Commemoration and the annual Easter Parade. Military bands also fulfil all military music requirements for the Defence Forces in addition to performing at a wide range of community and civilian events throughout the country. Defence Forces School of Music bands have performed on the international stage at festivals and military tattoos in Italy, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Beligum, Toronto and France.
