German Baroque Lenten Masterpieces

German Baroque Lenten Masterpieces

Saturday, 2 April 2022, 8.00pm

This concert will feature three works:

Two cantatas by JS Bach, selected for their appropriateness for the season.

Miserere in C Minor by Johann Adolph Hasse, a composer who was celebrated during his lifetime but has fallen into obscurity. Even though he was only 15 years younger than Bach, this majestic work is very much in the "proto-Haydn" gallant style.

Aisling Kenny, soprano
Pierce Cullen, alto
Nathan Phipps O'Neill, bass

The Marlborough Players
