SongEasel, a live song series based in South East London, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a new series called "Quintessential Song." The series consists of seven recitals across the region that pay homage to the sacred and secular origins of the song genre. In addition to the recitals, SongEasel will also be hosting a range of community engagement events.

The series features a wide range of performers, including Stephan Loges, Lorena Paz Nieto, Stuart Jackson, Ben Johnson, Aoife Miskelly, James Newby, and more.

It also includes a schools' programme that explores songs from around the world, as well as a Young Artist Programme at Blackheath Halls. There is also an informal Fringe Programme that offers a musical equivalent to a gathering at a café.

Freeman reflects on SongEasel's growth over the past five years, collaborating with accomplished performers and attracting a dedicated team of volunteers and supporters. She looks forward to continuing to bring live song to the area and inspiring the next generation of song lovers. The full schedule for the "Quintessential Song" series can be found below.
