International Festival for Irish Harp: Oscail an Doras with harper Úna Ní Fhlannagáin and poet Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh

Oscail an Doras : Opening concert with harper Úna Ní Fhlannagáin and poet Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh - in the beautiful surroundings of Beaulieu House, Termonfechin, Co. Louth.
Úna Ní Fhlannagáin is a harper and singer based in Galway. Rooted in the jigs and reels of North Clare and the sean-nós singing of Connemara, she is also influenced by American post-minimalists and free jazz. A soulful performer, she strives to create emotional connection with her audience; to bring solace and joy.
Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh was born in Kerry. She has read at festivals in New York, Paris, Montréal, Berlin and Ballyferriter. In 2012 her poem Deireadh na Feide won the O’Neill Poetry Prize. Filleadh ar an gCathair was chosen as Ireland’s EU Presidency poem in 2013 and was shortlisted in 2015 for RTE’s A Poem for Ireland.
From Sunday 30th June to Friday 5th July, the 34th International Festival of Irish Harp sees harpers from Ireland and all corners of the world gather at An Chúirt Chruitireachta, Cairde na Cruite’s residential harp festival in An Grianán, Termonfechin, Co. Louth. Alongside a series of workshops for harpers is the very popular public concert series that features a roll call of Irish and international leading harpers including Maeve Gilchrist, Cormac De Barra, Siobhán Armstrong, Janet Harbison, Oisín Morrison, Paul Dooley, Séamas Ó Flaithearta, Triona Marshall and many others.
