Lecturer in Music (Teaching and Research)

The Department of Music at the University of Manchester invites applications for the permanent position of Lecturer in Music, tenable from 1 September 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The successful candidate will be a specialist in the field of 20th-century art music.

The appointee will have a completed PhD or equivalent, a track record of producing high-quality research outputs in the field of 20th-century art music, and an active secondary specialism in either music analysis, popular music, film music or any other area that complements or expands the Department’s existing strengths. You will be a committed and versatile teacher and will be expected to convene, deliver and assess course units in your specialist areas as well as contributing to other teaching and examining as required. The postholder will also contribute to the broader management and administration of the Department under the guidance of the Head of Music.
