Bringing It All Back Home Special for Culture Night with Aimee Banks

Award-wining vocalist Aimee Banks is an 19 year old soprano from Galway. Aimee currently holds a number of Vocal titles and recently has been awarded “The most Promising Performer and Bursary” at The Irene Sandford Competition 2020 at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She was a recipient of an Eimear Noonan Music Bursary Award 2020 and is the current Overall Junior Vocalist at Sligo Feis Ceoil 2019. Aimee has recently returned from performing with the National Opera Studio in London.

A multi-award winner at Dublin Feis Ceoil and received a Silver Award in the 1st Vienna International Music Competition 2019. The last few years have been momentous for Aimee. Having had the honour of performing at the Governments launch of the 1916 Commemorations in Dublin’s Convention Centre she has also debuted as the young Giordano Bruno in Roger Doyle’s Opera, 'Heresy', where she received commendation from Opera World, The Irish Times and Opera Today. Aimee has had wonderful opportunities which have led to performances across Ireland, Europe and Carnegie Hall, New York and is no stranger to Radio and Television.

Aimee is currently studying under the direction of Kathleen Tynan,Head of Opera and Vocal Studies and Répétiteur Gráinne Dunne at The Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.

She is accompanied by Colm Henry on Piano with special guest David Kennedy who was the recipient of the Canto Al Serchio Award at the Birr Music Festival recently and performed at National Famine Commemoration for Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D Higgins this year. He also studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under the direction of Owen Gilhooly

Please note all attendees* must produce proof of immunity (vaccination cert or recovery cert) upon entry. Masks must be worn at all times in the Town Hall Theatre. Physical distancing will not be in place for this event
