Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Music: Polyphonic Singing and Communities of Music Writing in Medieval Britain and Ireland, c. 1150 to c. 1350

Maynooth University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in its Music Department, on a 24-month contract, as part of the BROKENSONG project, funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant. The project explores polyphonic singing and music writing in medieval Britain and Ireland (c. 1150-1350).

Candidates must have expertise in Medieval Musicology, Medieval Studies, or related disciplines, with experience in studying medieval manuscripts. Proficiency in Latin and late medieval script palaeography is essential. The role involves investigating the contexts, communities, and networks of polyphonic singing, with a focus on Worcester Cathedral's musical culture and practices.
