Following the success of previous RIAM presentations with leading Irish writers, artists and theatre directors, Ireland’s oldest music conservatoire will mount another collaborative ‘choice’ programme in 2020, on this occasion entitled Artist’s and Sitter’s Choice.

In partnership with the National Gallery of Ireland, the Academy turns to a selection of artists in the Gallery’s National Portrait Collection to nominate musical works of special personal significance to them to have performed by exceptional musicians from the RIAM. This fascinating programme will also include works personally chosen by their high profile sitters who have made significant contributions in the fields of art, fashion, film, medicine, music, sport, popular culture and theatre.
