MenCon | Chihiro Ono, Neil Luck, Andy Ingamells & Kirkos
MenCon is a radical reinterpretation of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto Op.64, wherein the solo part remains completely intact (realised by violinist Chihiro Ono), and the orchestral parts are reinterpreted and recomposed by a chamber orchestra of creative musicians from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, led by composer Neil Luck.
After several acclaimed performances, broadcasts, and a record release since 2022, we are bringing this chameleonic, unrepeatable, unpredictable, risky work on tour to be realised with several groups. In Dublin we work with the brilliant Kirkos Ensemble, for a performance at an as-yet undisclosed city centre location. More details published very soon!
