Music for Galway join forces with the Galway Jazz Festival (4th to 7th October) to present the radio.string.quartet on Thursday 4th October at St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church at 8pm. These four musicians will not perform pieces from the vast repertoire for this formation, but rather their own compositions.

Fitting the Wanderlust theme, this very particular quartet is on its own journey, seeking out beauty, calm and simplicity to create new sound worlds. They combine strings with the human voice in order to achieve a most atmospheric and life affirming sound. For its latest album Between Silence they wove their own experiences into the pieces – two weddings and three births happened within the quartet during the work on this piece, making life a central theme.

An evening of gentle exploration of sound and thought awaits. Book early to catch these extraordinary musicians as part of Music for Galway’s Wanderlust concert season and the Galway Jazz Festival in St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church.
