Walking in Ulysses - Immersive Audio Experience for Culture Night '22

Friday, 23 September 2022, 4.00pm

Walking in Ulysses brings you on a unique immersive audio journey into the heart of James Joyce's Ulysses, combining music, words and sound art for Culture Night 2022.

Using innovative locative audio technology, we have created an engaging abridged journey in the company of the characters from Ulysses, featuring the voices of Midie Corcoran, Ronan Lardner and others, as well an immersive original score from composer solstrek (www.solstrekmusic.com)

You simply plug your headphones into your smartphone, click on the link, and walk!

As you wander the paths of the Palace Grounds, you will encounter different sound zones, inspired by the episodes of Ulysses - from Stephen Dedalus' morning in the Martello Tower, to Leopold Bloom's musical afternoon in the Ormond Hotel.

Linger in any sound zone for as long or as short as you like!

Walking in Ulysses is designed for anyone with a curiosity about Joyce's literary masterpiece - even if you haven't quite ...ahem... finished every chapter of the book!

Experience Duration: 20 - 30 minutes (depending on lingering time!)

Free timed in-person tickets, as well as Virtual Walk Tickets Now Available!!

Walk Start Point: The Palace Grounds playground.
