Head of Collections
The Royal Academy of Music is hiring a Head of Collections.
The Head of Collections will hold operational curatorial responsibility for the Royal Academy of Music’s museum and collections. Working with the Dean of Students and other key colleagues, the three main elements of the role are: 1) leadership and management of the museum and library, 2) stewardship of the collection, and 3) continuing to develop the engagement of students, staff and members of the public with its holdings. The Head of Collections will require vision with respect to programming possibilities and diligence with respect to administrative detail.
In order to be successful in this role you will have experience of working with collections in an educational context, along with knowledge of collections, archival management and of the UK museum sector. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills along with excellent management and organisational skills, with the ability to work self-sufficiently, resourcefully and on your own initiative. You will also have experience of managing, developing and evaluating plans against performance targets and of working prudently with budgets.
